IWC Portugieser går tillbaka till 1939, då Ref. 325 tillverkades med ett fickursverk och en ovanligt stor boett. Linjen är känd för sin rena urtavlelayout och har vuxit till att omfatta komplicerade versioner som Perpetual Calendar från 2003. The Portugieser Automatic 42 Year of the Horse (Ref. IW501709) features a stainless steel case and a burgundy dial. In traditional Chinese culture, the horse symbolises a spirited and uplifting energy and is also seen as the beginning of success and good fortune. The calibre 52011 is equipped with a rotor in the shape of a galloping horse.
