IWC Pilot's Watch-familien går tilbage til 1930'erne. IWC introducerede Special Pilot's Watch Ref. 436 i 1936 og Big Pilot's Watch Ref. 52 T.S.C. i 1940, og Mark XI fra 1948 blev kendt for sin præcision og sin beskyttelse mod magnetisme. Denne gruppe viser moderne modeller, herunder Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team (Ref. IW388121) og Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet Le Petit Prince. Manufacturing CMC components requires very in-depth and specific technical know-how. Unlike in conventional carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers, the CMC matrix is made of ceramic. The finished cases are matte black and exhibit a structure that is determined by the fibres, which is different in every single piece. Powered by the IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre a highly robust and precise automatic movement. Parts of the winding system that are subject to particularly high stress are manufactured from virtually wear-free zirconium oxide ceramic.
